Holosun 510C is a full sized red dot from Holosun designed for long gun such as PCC, carbines or shotguns. In this article we cover details of this red dot. Mounting compatibility
Compatibility of red dots is solve by a footprint.
What does footprint stand for? Well as any other footprint, in this case also footprint tells us what does the bottom of the red dot look like.
With that information we will understand what kind of mounting device we have to use in order to fit the red dot. I.e. what is the positoin of the pins and screw holes of the red dot so that we can mount it.
Why is it important? It is one thing to get the best red dot, but it can be another thing to be able to mount the red dot to the gun you want. Luckily, most of the manufacturers share 4 or 5 main types of footprints to accomodate its red dots.
Holosun 510C footprint
Holosun 510C has a unique footprint that is to be used foremostly with its picatinny mounting interface, which is part of the package.

The fotprint of Holosun 510C consists of 10 screw holes and 2 recoil blocks. You will however not be dealing with the unique footprint, as you will have the red dot delivered already with picatinny mount.
Dimensions
Holosun 510C is a full sized red dot designed to work on long guns. The dimensions are matching that purpose as this red dot is considerably larger than any of the other Holosun red dots that are designed for pistols such as Holosun 507C or 507K.
The red dot has also titanium hood making it considerably heavier compared to smaller red dots for pistols. Yet compared to similar sized Holosun 512T, the 510C comes out as pretty light weight red dot.
