If your CZ 600 series rifle is not equipped with rail from factory, you still have a way how to get picatinny interface to your rifle: through a picatinny rail. We show you how to choose the correct rail for your rifle.
CZ 600 rail selection
Selecting a rail for your rifle only comes into mind when your CZ 600 rifle is not equipped with rail from factory.
For the actual CZ 600 rifle offerings that comes into mind for CZ 600 Lux and CZ 600 Range rifles.
Those models come from factory with Remington 700 type of dovetail base.

Its not required to get a rail for your rifle in order to install scope mount or scope rings to your rifle. It is however more convenient as you will be able to choose from much wider range of scope mounting solutions. More on CZ 600 scope mounts here.
Mini rail
For the smallest upper receiver size you will need mini rail. Note that the upper receiver size changes by the caliber, not by model.
From the CZ 600 series the following rifles require the mini rail:
- CZ 600 Lux 223 Remington

Medium rail
You will need medium sized rail for rifles with the medium sized upper receiver. The upper receiver size changes by the caliber, not by model.
From the CZ 600 series the following rifles require the medium rail:
- CZ 600 Lux 308 Winchester
- CZ 600 Range 308 Winchester
- CZ 600 Range 6 mm Creedmoor

- CZ 600 Lux 30-06 Springfield
- CZ 600 Lux 300 Winchester Magnum
- CZ 600 Lux 8×57 IS

Why to get a picatinny rail
Picatinny base is widely used sytem of attaching scope mounts to the rifle.
You can use any scope mount or scope rings that has either picatinny or weaver base and it wil fit the rifle, regardless of the original dovetail cut on the rifle.
Positives of picatinny rail
The main advantage of getting a picatinny rail is the possibility to choose from much wider range of mounts and rings for your rifle. Once it is equipped with picatinny base it is compatible with picatinny mounts as well as with weaver mounts.
This will allow you to use the same scope mounts on various rifles equipped with picatinny rail.
Also it allows very easy mounting and demounting of the mounts to the rail.
Negatives of picatinny rail
Getting an extra rail to your rifle will have also some negatives to it:
- First it adds some extra weight that would otherwise not be required if you got mount installed directly to the dovetail.
- And second it will cost you more money as it is another part needed for getting a scope to your rifle – apart from the scope mount and scope itself.
