On what mount can you install Sig Sauer Romeo 3? And with which optics can you share the same mount? In this article we look in detail into the Romeo 3 mounting surface.
Compatible footprint
Sig Sauer Romeo 3 uses the same footprint as C-More RTS standard, but it is longer. And that needs to be into consideration.
If you are about to mount Sig Romeo 3 to a pistol with slide cut, it will not fit as the sight will be longer than the cut. If the red dot is not to be mounted into a optics ready cut then it will be compatible though. The footprints are the same, only the Sig Rome o3 red dot itself is longer.

C-More pattern
C-More footprint consists of four sockets in the corners of the sight and of two screw holes in the rear of the sight.
The front socketes are 14mm / 0.55 inches far from each other. Position of these two sockets corresponds to position of pins that are on a mounting surface of any mount for this standard.
The screw holes are positioned in the rear part of the optic device. These function for fixation of the sight to the mounts. These two screw holes are 14mm / 0.55 inches far from each other, same as the sockets for mounting pins.
The distance between the front sockets and rear screw holes is 17,7mm / 0.70 inches.
The screws that are to be used for these screw holes are always included in the package with the sight.

Difference between Romeo 3 and C-More pattern
Although Romeo 3 uses the C-More standard, there is a difference that requires attention.
While the C-More red dots continue with the footprint from the front sockets only 18,4mm / 0.72 inches into the front, the Sig Romeo Romeo 3 continues with its surface from the front sockets by additional 23,4mm / 0.92 inches.
If you are about to mount Sig Romeo 3 to a pistol with slide cut, it will not fit as the sight will be longer than the cut.
Other optics sharing identical footprint
Other than Sig Sauer Romeo 3, this footprint is also used for other red dots. You can use the same mounting profile also for following optics:
- C-More RTS 2
- Vector Optics Frenzy 1x26x32
- Delta Optical Stryker
- … and other, as per the complete and actualized list here
Other red dot footprint standards
The sight uses the C-More footprint standard. That is not the only standard on the market. Below you can find other popular mounting standards:
